Lietava Castle is located 10 km from the regional city of Žilina near the peak of Cibuľník on the eastern edge of the Súľov Mountains. By its degree of preservation, it ranks among the largest (area of 1 hectare of built-up land) and most beautifully preserved ruins not only in Slovakia, but also in Central Europe.
